Madagascar

The Tour

Five Endemic Families. One Island.

Madagascar is the ultimate destination for the serious birder — five endemic families, more than 100 endemic species, and landscapes that feel unlike anything else on earth. Lemurs and chameleons share the forest with Helmet Vanga, Cuckoo Roller and Madagascar Serpent Eagle; the dry spiny forest of the south holds species so bizarre they seem invented. This is the destination that defines what endemism really means.

A well-structured Madagascar itinerary moves through multiple biomes: the eastern rainforest of Ranomafana, the deciduous forests of Ankarafantsika in the northwest, the dry spiny forests of the south and the transitional zones between. 10–14 days is the minimum to do it justice. We design private itineraries for those who know exactly why they’re going.
