Eastern Cape
An Underbirded Province of Extraordinary Reward
The Eastern Cape is one of South Africa’s most overlooked birding destinations — and all the better for it. Valley bushveld, coastal forest, open grassland and the dramatic escarpment provide a mosaic of habitats that few provinces can match, and the birding pressure here is a fraction of what you’d encounter in the Cape or Kruger.
We focus on the forest endemics of the Amathole — Knysna Warbler, Bush Blackcap, Chorister Robin-Chat — alongside the grassland specials of the interior and the seabird colonies of the Wild Coast. Addo and the Sundays River valley round out a tour that rewards the patient and the curious in equal measure.
All itineraries are private and designed around your specific targets and travel window. We typically recommend 7–10 days to do the province justice.
